Alfred State College Partnership
Alfred University is pleased to once again be working with Alfred State and the Building Trades Department on a construction project. Previously, the two institutions had partnered for the 2015 Solar Decathlon competition, which challenged collegiate teams to design, build, and operate solar-powered houses that are cost-effective, energy-efficient, and attractive.
Now, once again, Alfred State building trades: building construction students will be putting their skills and knowledge to work alongside Alfred University students, as the two schools begin collaboration on a Tiny House project.
Real-world, hands-on learning experience is nothing new to Alfred State building trades: building construction students, as a large part of their program is actual on-the-job training under the supervision of qualified instructors. Students regularly put their skills to work on real-world projects, including building homes for the Wellsville community.
